Paint Correction - F.A.Q

Paint correction is the process of removing swirl marks, scratches, oxidation and other imperfections from your vehicle's paint.

A paint enhancement polish is a lighter polishing process designed to significantly improve gloss and remove lighter imperfections. Paint correction is more intensive and focuses on removing a greater percentage of defects.

No. Wax can temporarily fill and mask very light imperfections, but it does not remove scratches. Paint correction uses machine polishing to permanently remove or reduce many surface imperfections and restore the paint's gloss and clarity.

Unfortunately no. Paint correction can improve the appearance of healthy paint, but it cannot repair clear coat that is cracking, peeling or failing. Once the clear coat has begun to separate from the paint, the affected area typically requires professional refinishing or repainting. Polishing or attempting to correct these areas can make the damage worse.

Absolutely, if the paint is in good condition and you want to restore its appearance. A properly corrected older vehicle can look dramatically different, but we always consider the age and condition of the paint before recommending correction.

It depends on how deep the scratch is. Paint correction can remove or significantly reduce surface-level scratches and swirl marks by polishing the clear coat. Deeper scratches that have gone through the clear coat cannot be safely polished away and may require touch-up paint, or repainting. Paint correction isn't scratch repair and not every scratch can be removed, however it can dramatically improve the overall appearance of the paint.

Time varies depending on the size and condition of the vehicle and the level of correction needed. We will evaluate your vehicle and provide an estimated timeframe.
